Dear AMVETS Family,
What a difference a few weeks makes in how we’re going about our lives. Our posts and canteens are closed for the most part due to social distancing, our routines are disrupted, and we’re concerned for families and community’s health and wellbeing.
AMVETS Leadership is trying to see into the near future, to see how it plays out. Will we have to cancel or reschedule meetings and convention? Trust me we’re looking at all scenarios, considering all the ‘what-ifs.’
For the time being, take it a day at a time, follow government guidelines as to gatherings and as to rescheduling, let’s hold off as long as possible before we do something we can’t undo.
We are fortunate that we are an AMVETS Family- let’s remember to check on our members and neighbors regularly. Phone calls could mean the difference of a good or bad day for those at home alone or with a house full of kids. Reach out, social distancing doesn’t mean social isolation.
AMVETS Leadership will make every effort to keep our AMVETS family informed of situations and changes as we come of aware them.
I’ll be in the HQ office for the majority of the time, my office number is also forwarded to my cell in case I’m away from my desk if you need to reach me.
Remember we’re AMVETS Family – #AMVETSFAMILY – better together.
Yours In Service,
National Commander, AMVETS
