BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The AMVETS of Bowling Green Post 130 dedicated their chapter name to fallen soldier, Lieutenant Robert Henderson.

Their motto is ‘veterans helping veterans’ and on Saturday they felt it was their duty to honor one of the first soldiers to lose their lives in Iraq.

Post 130 held a ceremony to name their chapter after Lt. Henderson.

“Lieutenant Robert Henderson was chosen because he was an outstanding soldier and a good community leader and everything,” says Commander Larry Waddle. “He worked at Lowe’s here in Bowling Green and was a very good person,”

Those who played a role in selecting whom to name the chapter after, all say it was an easy choice to honor Lt. Henderson.
