  Warrior Transition Workshop

AMVETS has partnered with the non-profit Freedom & Honor to host a series of Warrior Transition Workshops across the country, assisting today’s warriors and their loved ones in the transition from warrior to citizen.

Struck by reports of increasing veteran suicides and daunting unemployment figures, AMVETS National Commander Duane J. Miskulin made it a personal mission to address the transitional needs of today’s veterans during his term in Washington.

With the help and support of Freedom & Honor’s experts, Miskulin seeks to combat the invisible wounds of war by commissioning the new Warrior Transition Workshops as an AMVETS National Program.

Freedom & Honor has conducted similar workshops since 2005 and partnered with AMVETS as a way to expand its commitment to today’s service members.

The weekend-long workshops are based on experiential training designed by combat veterans, for combat veterans.
Topics of each workshop include:

  • BioEnergetics
  • Risk Communications
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Paradigm Shifts

AMVETS looks to conduct five workshops in the first year in locations around the country, kicking off with the inaugural workshop at Elkins Estate in Pennsylvania on May 14.
