AMVETS AND LOWCOUNTRYDIRECT
PROVIDE ONLINE ACCESS FOR ALL POSTS AND DEPARTMENTS
Web hosting firm continues to offer unique online opportunities to the AMVETS family
WASHINGTON, May 26, 2009—AMVETS and LowcountryDirect Web continue to provide low-cost, user-friendly Web opportunities to the AMVETS family nationwide. The deal, which AMVETS signed last June, allows all AMVETS posts and departments to easily host and update their own Web sites. LowcountryDirect’s EasySite system also offers individual site management for users who may not be tech savvy. As the network of AMVETS Web sites grows, LowcountryDirect will offer an AMVETS-specific resource center, as well as the AMVETS News Network, an RSS feed that will allow all posts and departments to share relevant content in a timely manner.
“When AMVETS testifies on Capitol Hill, it is our responsibility to let all our members know about it,” said AMVETS National Commander John Chad Hapner. “As more and more AMVETS posts and departments sign on and develop their Web sites, LowcountryDirect will be able to help us reach a broader audience within the veterans’ community, while enhancing our organization’s entire online experience.”
The AMVETS-LowcountryDirect Web agreement offers every group under the AMVETS umbrella, including the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary, Sons of AMVETS, AMVETS Riders, Sad Sacks and Sackettes, the opportunity to develop a comprehensive Web site for a one-time starter fee of $69.99. Renewal of the Web site each year, along with the domain name, will be available for the discount rate of $39.99.
“Considering the comprehensive support and expertise offered by LowcountryDirect, this is an incredible opportunity for AMVETS to establish itself as a major voice for veterans online,” said Hapner. “I encourage all posts and departments to sign on with LowcountryDirect and connect with your fellow AMVETS. As a national leader in veterans’ service, those who have served our country look to us for assistance and guidance. In order to accomplish our mission, our posts and departments must be able to easily share information.”
Each post or department that registers their domain name with LowcountryDirect under the agreement will be provided with 100mb of space, 1000mb of bandwidth, and five administrative e-mail accounts. Preexisting AMVETS sites will be easy to transfer into the new system and LowcountryDirect’s EasySite software will allow webmasters to edit their content from any computer with an internet browser.
Through every step of the process, LowcountryDirect has worked to make the system user-friendly for the least Web-savvy operators. For more information on the AMVETS Web site agreement, or to register your post, visit: www.lowcountryhosting.com/amvets.html. |
