AMVETS, DEVRY UNIVERSITY HELP FUND VETERANS’ AND THEIR FAMILIES’ FUTURES
Six veterans and four veterans’ family members earn 2009 fall scholarships
WASHINGTON, Oct. 27, 2009— AMVETS, one of the nation’s largest and most inclusive veterans service organization, announced the ten fall scholarship winners for the AMVETS–DeVry University Scholarship Program.
Selected to receive educational awards valued up to $9,000 each at DeVry University are veterans Jamie Steeves of Irving, Texas.; Renee Moore of Jacksonville, Fla.; Claudi Uzquiano Camacho of Apopka, Fla.; David Engnes or Belpre, Ohio; Paul Quinn of Philadelphia, and Richard Richter of Sevierville, Tenn.; veterans’ spouses Shannon Snelson of Seymour, Tenn.; Sheila Meyer of Wheaton, Ill.; and Kelly Popple of Zimmerman, Minn.; and veteran’s child Amanda Johnson of Columbia Falls, Mont.
The winners were selected on the basis of academic excellence and financial need. Each year, AMVETS’ national scholarship programs award more than $2 million in scholarships to veterans and graduating high school students who are sons and daughters or grandchildren of American veterans.

Miskulin. “Through DeVry University and other educational institutions, AMVETS is proud to continue offering exceptional educational support to our Nation’s heroes and their loved ones.”
