Iowa Riders Run to Support Marshalltown Veterans Home
Riders,
Last August Chapter 49 Cedar Falls Iowa, made a run to the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown Iowa, we donated $500 dollars raised by one of our runs and donated it to the homes activity fund. This turned out to be quite rewarding for us. We met Vets from WWII to present and found one old Sailor who was Iowas oldest survivor of the USS Arizona attack.
Very rewarding, Very rewarding, but very humbling. We presented the check to the administrator, who was thankful for any donation they get. At present we are taking on donations for the Vets Home and will be taking all sorts of items down next month so they will have them for Christmas. We are also doing a "Operation Christmas" which is a fund raiser for the local 445th Transportation Unit now serving in Iraq. For more information contact me, or contact Post 49, Cedar Falls, Iowa. We continue to grow in membership, and are increasing our activities slow but steady.
