AMVETS Scholarships
AMVETS annually awards scholarships to the sons, daughters or grandchildren of AMVETS members or of a deceased veteran who would have been eligible for AMVETS membership.

Education Benefits and the Montgomery GI Bill
The MGIB program provides up to 36 months of education benefits and may be used for degree and certificate programs, flight training, apprenticeship/on-the-job training and correspondence courses.

University of Phoenix

The following scholarship is funded by the University of Phoenix and is a joint venture to help veterans; active duty service members, reservists, Guardsmen and family members obtain a high-quality online education.

• Fifty scholarships will be awarded this year. Each scholarship will consist of a $7,000 non-cash credit to the University of Phoenix.

Devry University

AMVETS and Devry University have teamed up to offer veterans and their families an opportunity to pursue or enhance their college education through tuition scholarships valued at up to $9,000 each towards an undergraduate or graduate degree at DeVry University or it's Keller Graduate School of Management.

Ten scholarships will be awarded each semester. (Scholarships for online or any of their institutions within the United States)

Those eligible are Veterans, their immediate family members (i.e. spouse, natural and adopted children) and the natural and adopted children of member of the active military, including Guard and Reserve.

Active duty are not eligible because DeVry has a more attractive discounted program for them and their spouses.

The new Kaplan University military online tuition discount reduces the undergraduate tuition from $353.00 to $165.00 per quarter credit hour for active-duty servicemembers and reservists. Military veterans will pay $230.00 per quarter credit hour, a 34 percent discount. These tuition discounts mean that, for many, military benefits may cover the cost of undergraduate tuition at Kaplan University. In addition, the spouses of active-duty military will receive a 10 percent discount on undergraduate tuition.

Kaplan University also announced new benefits for the family members of AMVETS. If you are an AMVETS member, your immediate family members are eligible for a 10% reduced tuition rate on undergraduate programs.
