This is a professional position located in the Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention under the direct supervision of the Senior Management Analyst II (Health Systems Section Administrator). The overall responsibility of this position is to provide management and support services for the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC) 1305, State Public Health Actions to Prevent and Control Diabetes, Heart Disease, Obesity and Associated Risk Factors, and Promote School Health Grant. In addition, this position manages the Disability and Health contract and 1305-related contracts as needed. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Manage the 1305 grant activities for all domains including grant application, grant reporting, coordinating and monitoring of budget from allocation by domain and category (e.g., salaries, contracts, expenses) and tracking grant expenditures to ensure funds are utilized accurately and completely. Coordinate assignments related to the grant and ensure grant reports are submitted timely and accurately.
Provide oversight of performance measure tracking and supervision of staff involved in grant activities. Assist staff in developing projects that address performance measures, and in budgeting to procure project services, monitor service delivery, and assure that data are collected and projects are evaluated in alignment with the funding specifications.
Act as contract manager for the Disability and Health Grant and other assigned 1305 contracts. Prepare required contract documents, process invoices in a timely manner and conduct contract monitoring. Monitor the Disability and Health Grant budget. Provide contract management supervision including assuring the timely execution, management, and monitoring of contracts.
Implement activities to increase quality improvement activities in health systems.
Implement activities to increase medication adherence, especially related to hypertension and diabetes.
Provide technical assistance to Bureau staff related to purchasing and contract policies/procedures and budget tracking to ensure funds are spent accurately and in a timely fashion.
Procure services and materials by preparing appropriate procurement documents (ITN, RFA, ITB) through MyFloridaMarketPlace (MFMP) and negotiating with potential vendors. Follows department and MFMP procurement procedures, processes invoices, tracks payments, troubleshoots problems, and monitors payment and encumbrance histories in all necessary financial systems.
Participate in educational opportunities to enhance professional development.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
