Job Summary:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a forklift to move, load, and unload materials and other large objects for construction and maintenance projects. This position performs daily forklift inspections and conducts all work in accordance with load charts and safety requirements. The individual must understand the importance of prioritization of safety, quality, and production and be willing to work accordingly.


Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Support ASRC Energy Services Omega, LLC zero-incident safe culture/zero-defect quality culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities and operations.
  • Comply with company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Follow guidelines, handbooks, state and federal codes / regulations, and verbal and written instructions and directions to perform the assigned task.
  • Maintain records for work order / work permits and material used.
  • Prepare JSA reports, work plans and conduct inspections of worksites and equipment as required.
  • Keep work area clean and in orderly condition.

  • Effectively and safely operate forklift to lift, move material and equipment.
  • Read and understand load charts to ensure sufficient forklift capacity.
  • Maintain radio communication with crew members while loading and unloading material and equipment.
  • Observe hand signals from other crew members.
  • Inspect equipment to insure safe operation, before use.
  • Monitor forklift operations and identify malfunctions.
  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on forklift as required.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain logs, records, and forklift maintenance schedules.
  • Inspect, adjust, and perform minor repairs.
  • Assist all construction activities when no forklift operators are taking place, such as assisting fitters, welders, and rigging personnel in their day to day activities.
  • Must be familiar with hazards associated with working at heights.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the use of air tuggers, come-a-longs and other hoisting devices to position material in the job site.
