Description of Position:
This is professional work in the statewide radiation machine regulatory section overseeing the enforcement of radiation machine registration rules and regulations. Exceptional communication skills are necessary to collect information, analyze data, and make determinations and initiate corrective actions regarding radiation machine investigations and enforcement. Duties include:

Knowledge of the terminology, principles, and analytical techniques of radiation.

Available on a 24 hour-a-day basis for response to radiation emergencies. Perform duties as a member of the State Radiation Emergency Response Team. Must be able to lift 60 pounds of equipment. Must have a valid Florida driver's license. Upon qualification, as determined by supervisor, will serve as an on-call duty officer as scheduled by a duty roster.
Must receive a minimum score of 70% on each written exam of the required core training modules and must attend all required core training courses designated in the training and qualification procedures.
The incumbent in the position is considered to have regulatory responsibilities and is subject to the provisions of Chapter 60L-36.003, Florida Administrative Code.

Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs or Red Cross shelters, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
